Back before I knew better I hunted in the snow and rain with my Dads Winchester. Its a '92 in 32-20, oct. barrel, factory tang sight and the serial number is ( I think, its kinda worn ) 3607. The steel is plum colored, the wood is good and the bore is mint. It will shoot nice round 3 inch groups at 100 yrds all day long. Once I figured out what I had it was retired.
I found a Winchester Limited 32-20 NIB yesterday and its now mine. I killed everything from rabbits and squirrels to a HUGE trophy ( to a snot nosed kid at least ) 2 point buck with the senior 32-20 and now I can shoot one again without worrying about it.
Funny thing, I did not realize a 32-20 out of a rifle wouldn't kill a deer until I began reading gun magazines at about 14. Until then it worked just fine.

Good on ya Joe. Nothing like recapturing good times with more of them. Glad you have the new recruit to spell the experienced guy. It's good to have a deep bench.
Glad to hear you have a companion to your dads old Win 92. Hope the new one shoots as good as the original one.
One thing though, don't leave dad's old 92 all alone and lonely in the safe. Take him out once in a while to remind junior what he's got to live up to.
Oh, and pics of both are really nice.
