AFAIK, all the old Weaver 3/4" rings were designed as "tip-off" mounts, for the grooves of .22 rifles, and you'd need a dual-grooved base (as sold for a Ruger 10/22, which could be redrilled for a Marlin) to fit them to a non-grooved receiver.
B-Square currently makes a 3/4" ring that fits Weaver bases, but it's a tad utilitatian, IMHO:

Beg to differ, but Weaver at one time did make their regular detachable mounts with 3/4" rings ( I mounted a J4 on my
Savage Model 99EG using Weaver bases and rings. That was back around 1961.) Gary Fellers immediately comes to mind
as a possible source for Weaver's 3/4" detachables.
Aeredaleman,
I seem to remember that what you contend is correct.
But in the 5 years I worked there, there was 1 possibly two runs of them.
At the time Weaver was the worlds largest manufacture of telescopic rifle sights.
Remember a big place like that takes time to gear up to a run of products.
Blanking out basic piece on punch press from rolls of steel
Forming hook
forming ring
piercing holes
stamping name all in punch press dept.
polish

blueing

Thats all for just the ring
At the same time other depts. mill, drill press ,polish, anodize,
are running the saddles concurrently, so when all is finished they can be packaged & sold

.
I didn't know they made the 3/4" standard type ring until I was at the Chantilly Viriginia gun show last month . I purchased a nice old Weaver K6 from a guy and he said some 3/4" standard type Weaver rings . Wish I had gotten his name or card
