I rarely shoot 7mm Remington Magnum, but do have a gun chambered in it.
I'm contemplating either selling my Ruger Number One Medium Sporter in 7mm Mag.,
- or -
getting the Ruger re-barrelled into .45-70 - does anyone here have an idea how feasable/expensive/practical that would be, vs. just selling the gun? I have to admit, I really do like the gun - I'm just not a bottleneck cartridge person, and would prefer a .45-70, .444, or something on that order.
If I decide I want to shoot 7mm Remington Magnum in the future, I can always get a barrel for my Encore.

I had a #1 .300 mag. rebarreled to .32-40 . Buck Penrod, Penrod precision did a super job of it. He is in IN. He has an add in Rifle magazine. I can get his # if you need it.
PS , I breech seat the .32-40 and it will shoot 5 into 1/2 " at 100 yd.
He also does very good rtigger work on the #1.

It would be cheaper in the long run to buy one in .45-70, than to rebarrel your mag.
I would think the cash difference would be somewhere between $0 & $100, as opposed to a $200-300 rebarrel project.
I wouldn't, however sell the mag first.
I'd first locate/buy a .45-70, THEN sell the mag.
That way, you'd never be out the gun, incase you couldn't find one in .45-70 right away.
