"IKE" in the Arknsaw Ozarks
Well old Ike finally made it to my part of Arkansaw during the nite. We lost power for a few hours, had a lot of rain and pretty high winds for here. Praise the Lord all we had to do was clean up alot of small limbs. Our church up in Stone county was canceled today, lost a main power line up that way.

We got plenty of wind in y neck of the Ozarks as well. Power was down for about five hours, but it sure did clean out the air. It's about 69 degrees and feels great!

We had about 2900 people without power here this morning, power crews are busting tail and have made a lot of progress. Lots of high wind and rain. Tropical storms in Arkansas, who woulda' thunk it.
really makes me feel for the folks in the areas that took the full force of the storm.

The remains of Ike are passing through my area of Ontario, Canada right now. Not much steam left .... steady light rain and a bit of wind. It's pretty much had the biscuit.

Yep, I live in the Ozarks too. We were out of power for about 3 hrs at my house, up on the mountain where I live, but down in the valley they were out pretty much all day long. They were out of power at the church, where my wife goes, but they got a generator hooked up.
The local gas station had no electricity, but it was still open and serving burgers because the grill was natural gas. However, no one could get any fuel, bucause there was no power to pump the fuel, until earily evening.
My dad, who is in his seventys was out at daylight cutting the trees out of the road so people could get out, and so my nephew could get back home from the night before. I guess I slept through all of the wind, I didn't even think we had any, until I found out later.

Ike went through here last night but pretty well spent, just a few limbs off trees locally.
