I don't know if it's real or a fake but I like it, just wish I had the scratch for a real '73.

I wouldn't go near that gun. It looks like some amatuer took steel lettering stamps to mark that wrench marred barrel. That thing is totally fake and only made to fool a rube.

There is a possibility that rifle may be the real thing. Back in those days, the Rangers didn't have any fancy machinery to identify their guns, so hand stamping would have been the most likely way of identification with the result being shown in the photo.
