I can't believe I could be this stupid but yesterday, Quadratec was having their annual "tent sale". Quadratec is a company that sells after market stuff for Jeeps and.......drum roll........is convienently located about 7 miles from where I live!! And yes, I know the boys there on a first name basis!
Now, on to the stupid part. ---Here I'm thinking there was going to be a bunch of customer return junk sitting in a pile with pricetags about .02% off full retail, so..................I don't feel a need to bring my camera.
I get up there at 9:15 AM (opened at 9:00) and it seemed like I was the last one there. There was 3-400 Jeeps there with about 100 in the "cool display yard". Different vendors from around the country were there showing off all kinds of neat stuff. There was one custom Jeep with a Cadillac North Star motor in it with 44" tires, there was ............too much to talk about.
A live band, all kinds of food, hundreds of custom and accessorized Jeeps and here I am, by myself, $30 in my pocket, and no camera.
Yea, thats what I get for being half Italian------------------Sixgun

This thing is a "Concept" vehicle. It may or may not become a production vehicle. If it does become a production vehicle, it may or may not have a number of changes..45colt wrote:Just for fun I called my local jeep dealer and inquired about this new truck. they don't know when it will be out, don't know the msrp and don't know anything else about it.
I thanked them for the information and hung up.![]()

So don't expect your dealer to have any information on it.

Charles, they knew of the truck, just nothing specific.....my jeep has been back six times in four years for warrenty issues of which (2) were fixed in a timely manner. I long ago stopped expecting much of jeep.

Mr 45 Colt.
In all seriousness, you either have a lemon or an as*hole for a dealer---the latter more probable. We have a "5 star" dealer down the road where I have bought 2 Jeeps from and yes, yes, yes,..........they are "A.H.'s" from the git go. I'll go as far as naming them ----------David Dodge, of Concordville, Pa.

While their sales people are on the up and up, well....you know the rest.
Its up to the buyer to "call the shots", do his homework, research ,whatever, and tell it like it is as to pricing. If there's a problem with the mechanics of the vehicle, you cannot be nice about it-------you call Corporate Customer Service---------you know, go over THE DEALERS head.
On another note, there are now 9 (nine) Jeeps in my somewhat small family and we's all be satisfied 100% (ebonics

Re: OT: New Jeep Concept
Sixgun, I did call the corporate hotline (3) times over a reacurring rust issue. a spot the size of a dollar bill that they had the jeep for (3) weeks in (3) years for. after I raised H##l the third time they sent a supervisor down from detroit to see it. they would not let Me talk to HER. the offer She made was to replace the whole roof if I paid 50% ($900)...this still in warrenty... I went to the body shop and implored them to make jeep pay to fix it right.jeep finally did but cried all the way. All I have ever wanted was the thing fixed and I don't think it is asking too much, from Jeep under "their" Warrenty.

Re: OT: New Jeep Concept
Amazing how quickly we can turn most topics into a "photo thread" on this board at the drop of a hat
Here's my contribution --- '00 TJ with the 4.0 I-6. Supposedly a Dana 44 rear , but fellas, i've been having so much fun driving it, i haven't stopped long enough to hop underneath and verify
(doesn't much matter for my use -- i am a very casual off-roader -- established trails around lake areas and camping areas are my speed )
As i said earlier in the thread, i think everyone should have one of these at some point in their lives, - Its a blast to drive, but most of my hobbies (besides guns) involve hauling dirt bikes to the track or mountain bikes to the trail -- the Jeep doesn't do that without a trailer (well, in fairness, there are many rack systems available for bicycles )
But my truck gets roughly 15-16 mpg, the Jeep gets 17-18 on the stock size tires - so thats a small improvement , plus parking the little dude is so easy its a crime
After having it for a year now, i am going to shift my thinking against the grain though and say now i would rather have an automatic for my use --- my last 5 speed pickup truck was a few years ago and i thought getting a 5 speed Jeep would be a hoot. I've become spoiled and i like the slush boxes now
But i'll likely never get rid of it willingly -- the wife stated not long ago that she wanted a Yamaha Razor to tool around in (a ATV style side by side) - and i exclaimed to her -
"Why? We have a Jeep! BEsides , when the day is done, its hard to take the Razor into town for dinner"

Streetstar,
That is a clean looking TJ!
I gotta ask as I am colorblind a bit. What color is your Jeep? It does not look like a factory color, but I guess it could be yellow, or light green.-----Sixgun

Re: OT: New Jeep Concept
Its stock solar yellow AFAIK --- the paint underhood and under the carpet matches the outside --- the doors on the other hand are a bit off --- I got a fair deal on the Jeep when i bought it because it came without doors (thieves) -- my replacement doors were green and this is as close as i could get them without enlisting professional helpSixgun wrote:Streetstar,

I hope to load this and a bunch of bicycles up and head to CO pretty soon to run some "bunny trails" out there as my last hurrah of the year
