Re: Refinished the wood on my 1894M
Nice! I will have to try that Tru-Oil some time, cause I always like the way it turns out on other peoples projects.

Excellent
Re: Refinished the wood on my 1894M
Neat. Really neat. I passed by a 1894M for over a year and it finally sold just as I was weakening. I do believe the big man upstairs was looking out for me. Every time I handled that gun it just got nicer and nicer to me. I'm sure your wife
will enjoy hers!

Yeah, I'm liking it alot more now. I'm thinking about just a couple of more coats of Tru Oil then I'll be getting a leather butt cuff and sling for it.
I've got a fair amount of different types of ammo too, so hopefully one of them will shoot well.

Yeah Griff, you are right, I apologise, my bad.
But still, that is SO nice.
I have to stop looking at that picture, it is unseemly for grown man to cry!

Well, I didn't get a chance to shoot it this weekend because of rain, but I did throw on a couple of more coats of Tru-oil.
Not too shiny and not too dull. Now, it looks almost exactly like the factory finish on my 80's vintage 336.

That turned out great. I have a 39M that is waiting for me to strip, reshape and refinsh.

Wonderful job! I really like those 1894M rifles. I have owned two in my life and just missed on a chance at another one. They are neat rifles.
