Post by model55 »

Managed to find one of these in 41 magnum so I'm hoping this will work with the Marlin.I have a few questions one do I need any sort of case lube? There appears to be no need for a shell holder or am I missing something here?Kind of a neat gadget!

I'm not sure, but I think not. IIRC they neck-size only.

Best place to ask his here: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/forumdisplay.php?f=39

Anything you want to know about a 310 will be explained.

It's best to lube the case neck before sizing. You can do without it, but it wears the tool and brass.

I used one for years in 45-70 amd 44 spl. I like them, and still use them for some reloading chores. Handy to have in your travel gear. I throw my full length bench size die in also, sometimes I can find someone that will let me use their bench press. Lyman also made full length size dies, the tap-in type. They are nice to have in the road bag also. Two or three Lee dippers, with the load of various powders that each one throws written on a card, and you're in pretty good shape.

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?

Yes, They neck size only. I remember helping my dad load .244 Rem. shells on one when I was about 9 in 1955. He could load a box in about an hour. I still have the old Redding scale we weighed the powder out to EXACTLY the right amount. He was very particular about his fox ammo.

If you send me your e mail I can send you a set of instructions for the 310 tool. These will be from the 1958 Lyman Catalog.
