Traded Into A 1895 In 405--UpDated With Pics!!!!

Post by Blaine »

The one I always said I'd get someday......Out of the blue, a fella offered me a straight across swap for my BFR and Holster.....How could I say no?? LNIB and real pretty wood. I'll miss the BFR, but this is pretty special, too.....

Here She Is; Just like all the others, but mine :mrgreen:

Great trade. You can always buy another BFR, but '95's in .405 are hard to come buy. It took me a while.

How was the shoot this weekend. I had to work all weekend and couldn't swing it.

And................It's easily peepable. :wink:

This is an XS peep, originally for an 1894 Marlin - and XS also sells the M-95 pin-in front sight blade in the taller height needed for the peep.

Good on you -your patience paid off! :D
Me too - I waited for two years for just the LNIB .405 takedown 1895 I wanted to hunt with, and picked up a nice never-fired Deluxe safe-queen along the way!

My "shooter" shoots great offhand with factory Hornady ammo, so I may never shoot it from a bench rest. Please follow up with pics and range reports.

Sounds like that guy didn't like his .405 in the least. Maybe he had tender shoulders.

Thanks to those with kind words on my two 1895s. :)
Both came to me through contacts made on this forum and I cannot say enough good words about the folks with whom I dealt. Both rifles exceeded my expectations and were priced fairly for their configuration and condition. I would do it again.

Griff;
I did not think I would like a 95 either until I shot one and could hit with it. For me, my 95 comes up just right with the sights on the target, so it is hard to miss with it.
BTW, the same reason that I like my 86 and 92 ! :D

TT and CRS,

Beautiful pieces. I picked mine up as a shooter and a hunter. I want mine to go into the field with me. I love this design. you either love'em or hate'em.
