Grandpa's little Colt .25 ACP
The other day, my dad gave me my grandfather's little Colt.
It's still almost new condition and has been sitting in the box for decades. I've shot it once or twice and was surprised by what a good little shooter it is. My dad had a little health scare last month and just turned 83 a couple of weeks ago. I think he wants me go have as much of the family stuff before it ends up going through the trust he's set up for my sister and I. I'll end up with the whole collection regardless, but the bulk of it will have to be offset by some of the real estate. Hopefully that doesn't happen for a long time.

What a classic. After all my years of messing about with guns, only one .25 has passed through my hands -- a nearly used-up Mauser Model 1910. The Colt is so much handsomer!

Thanks Guys!
Looking forward to getting out to shoot the little bugger again. Fits in well with my little collection of pocket pistols. Definitely the smallest one of the bunch.

Hey, my Colt vest pocket's little baby brother! Congrats. I got my Grandfathers Colt vest pocket .25acp that was made in 1917 when my Father passed.

That's very nice, Jason.
I have a few .25 CP's, but not a Colt. Maybe someday. I took the kids out shooting the pocket guns a decade+ ago, and they had a ball.

Those are neat little pistols. Glad you have it to enjoy.
I had a Baby Browning that I got from a late Uncle. But foolishly used it as trade fodder for a levergun a few years ago. One of many gun regrets.

When I was a kid, I asked my Grandfather to help me get one of the little beauties at the company store. A coalminer, as were most of my male relatives. He told me when I need a pistol to think a bit larger. He grinned and said " if you shoot someone with a .25 acp, why they'll pinch a piece out of you!". That was over 50 years ago and I still want one. I'm satisfied to want and not have one! The story remains...

Probably why it's in such great shape. Grandpa always had a 1911 or a 1917 S&W in his desk drawers.
