44 special loads 2400 powder
Hi gents, anyone have links to higher pressure loads( up to lever action level) in 44 special brass preferably with 2400 powder. Any bullet weights 200-240+ grains, JHP and cast. Purpose is two extra shots in the magazine of my rossi 92. Starline says their brass is good for lever action pressures.
Re: 44 special loads 2400 powder
My hottest .44 Special loads are safe in Colt SAA ... I use the Keith 250 gr. SWC over 16.5 gr. 2400 with standard Large Pistol primer. I have used this load for nearly 20 years and have not shot a lot of them in the 1894 Marlin but they work fine. Easier recoiling than full magnum loads.

That’s a great load, though a little more than I care to shoot on a regular basis in a SAA.

My standard load in the single action is 6.5 gr. Unique. In my gun it hits POA .. didn't cut the sights at all ... and both it and the 2400 load hit very close together, which was one reason I settled on them.Scott Tschirhart wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2023 7:50 am That’s a great load, though a little more than I care to shoot on a regular basis in a SAA.
