I thought Federal was the occupying contractor for Lake City Army Amunition Plant. That's where the 7.62 NATO comes out of .

On top of the Hornady explosion. Firearms aren’t of any use to citizens if ammo is available. Back door gun control?

All part of the left's plan!
They can't take our guns but they can stop the flow of ammo! Then we are screwed unless you reload and have stock on hand.

"Lake City is not only the largest supplier for the US Government and Military..."

Perhaps the feds realize it's a dangerous world out there right now and want to increase their stockpiles.

It was federal but the contract is renegotiated every four years. Winchester really made use of the over-runs in unique ways and we greatly benefited with win.(and oddly fed.) primed brass not long ago when primers were hard to come by. From grafs, during the last primer drought, we bought 500 each primed fed. headstamped .45 colt and .30-30 and 1000 primed .300 blackout formed from l.c. 5.56. Yes, we payed a bit more for the brass than we'd like but the fact that it were primed when primers were scarce sealed the deal.

B.T.W., this is not the first time that L.C. has announced the cessation of civilian sales and they went right along selling anyway.....
