OT- New Format Won't let me use back button

Can anyone tell me why ever since we went to the new format, when I read a thread and then use the back button it brings up "page has expired"? It will do this every time, whether I have been reading the thread for a while or do it instantly.

I get that occasionally from Firefox. Some sort of promt about resending post data or something. But my back button does work. Big PITA though.

i noticed that too. I shifted to the alternate format and that has the previous and next topic selections which allow me to move through the messages. the back arrow does not always work for me but I just tried as I was typing this and it worked. go figure. in the new format, i was reduced to going to general discussion then scrolling down after every message. couldn't maneuver very well there.

I had that problem frequently until I went into personal settings and selected the alternate (old style) format. Since then it has not happened.

Wouldn't you know it!! As soon as I posted the above thread and went back to the forum page and then selected a post and tried to go back to the forum page again via the "back button", I got a page that said, "Warning, this page has expired".

I am using Firefox and it works OK for me.

I get that too. I also get it from sites I shop from. I think it happens when the pages aren't real pages, they are created on the fly for your viewing pleasure and so they don't really exist, and your browser doesn't cache them for very long.

But we should wait for an expert analysis here.

I don't know what the problem is, but there is a workaround, at least for those who are using the Mozilla Firefox Browser. I just moved to the latest version - 3 - but I think that this works for all versions (of Firefox, at least).

Use Alt Left-Arrow - that is, hold down the Alt button and tap the left arrow at the same time.

That will allow you to move to the previous page.

Conversely, Alt Right-Arrow moves you back forward, if you have moved back and then want to return to your first location.

I get that occasionally and usally hitting "refresh" fixes it. If not I hit the forward button and try again.

I have gotten the expired page notice only when I have made a post and then hit the back button. I can hit it again and it does eventually get me where I want to go. Just reading I have had no problems.

Hey, now with this new adjustment everything works great. Back button, font size changing, everything. I like this one.
