This photo was taken in western Nebraska along the "long piney ridge" that starts in Wyoming and ends at the Lakota Sioux Reservation in South Dakota. The Nebraska segment is easily accessed. This is great game country!
Please share photos of your favorite places, too. Thank you in advance.

Fire Up the Grill - Hunting is NOT Catch & Release!
One of my favorites:
Campsite opposite a little meadow @ 9000ft in the Sierras south of Mt. Whitney where I love to hunt. Gettin' in there the snow was drifted frame deep on that Blazer. Took up 3 hours to get the last 1/2 mile into the trees. This was 4 days later when we were almost ready to leave.
Why I love it:

There is a fine line between hobby & obsession! AND... I'm over it!!
No I ain't ready, but let's do it anyway!
Here is our hunting cabin in Central Pennsylvania. The camp is right on the banks of Penns Creek for you flyfishers out there and surrounded by miles and miles of open mountain land available for hunting. I'll also post a picture of a whitetail that I killed up there while hunting a few years ago.

I love Yosemite, but this little shack is our own piece of High Sierra heaven.
Here's the view from the front deck in early spring. DO NOT fall into that river 'cause there ain't no gettin' out if you do.
Now that things have calmed down a bit this is our swimmin' hole. Water so clean that drinking it is no problemo. I do it all the time.
Our drinking water comes from a spring up the hill. It just don't get any better. Plenty Rainbow and Brown Trout, too.
After a cool swim you can warm yourself on this huge polished granite rock in the middle of the river.

My favorite hunting / camping / getaway spot is the Table Mountain Wilderness in central Nevada. I have hunted deer and elk there with my father many times. There are enormous aspen groves with basque tree "art" from the early 1900s. It is magnificent country.

I took this pic last winter when I was dog walking in one the the usual spots.

Isnt it amazing how many people post without reading the thread?
My hunting buddies grandfather was with the park service in the Pine Ridge area of Nebraska and we hunted with him a couple times. Thanks for the picture, that brings back some great memories.
Life has a way of making the foreseeable that which never happens... and the unforeseeable that which your life becomes.
Ji, you got it that's just where that is, my desktop pic now. Nice bird hunting shot - bet you would like chukkar hunting on the top of 7000 ft mts in the desert - you can see 100 miles I bet. We need a guy to run up and chase them down.
