Safelite Glass Co warning.

Post by Tycer »

Apparently it’s SNAFU at Safelite to send away vehicles with forward facing cameras if there are any stored codes. The parent company will not allow the shops to work on them. They give no notice of this until they send you away. My local Honda dealership says they get hundreds of calls from upset former Safelite customers.
Kind regards,
Another former Safelite customer

But yet their commercials say they adjust all that stuff when replacing windshields.
They also will not replace a windshield if there is any sigh of rust around the frame.

Here in the Denver area cracked windshields are a normal thing as they 'sand' the road with gravel at times and the trucks throw that up at you constantly. Safelite Glass advertises heavily here but they charge those with insurance much more than what you can get a quote for from other reputable companies locally. They've never won my business in the time I've lived here.

Living here since 1980, I've had to replace a lot of windshields and a great local place with good prices is called Action Auto Glass. I've been going to them for a couple decades. Last year my wife's 2010 Honda CR-V needed a new windshield and Safelite quoted me (yes, I always shop for best price) 3 times what Action did and Action gives me 2 free chip repairs for free. Fingers crossed, I haven't had to use one yet.
