On August 11, 1973, some 50 years ago today, my wife made the biggest mistake of her then 22 year old life. She screwed up and married me! We've had a great run at least as far as I'm concerned as there's no doubt that I married far, far above my station.

I'm bragging but she's likely not.

Congratulations to both of you, because it takes two . . .
BTW, to keep it sorta gun related, one of my wedding presents to us both were a couple of Ruger 10/22's I bought for I believe it was $59 each. And, we still have them in their stock configuration. Hers is special because the 'R' in Ruger is double stamped and it mimics the look of the 'RR' in Rolls Royce.

Lol mine is the smartest person I've ever known, except for her Big Screwup 43 years ago.

Fondue party you say, thought that faded out long time ago, in the 60’s maybe, remember my parents doing that. They always had fun doing that with friends.
We have 3 pots, 2 of which we got for wedding presents and they still work! We use 1 for the cheese at the kitchen island before dinner where we stand around and have some bubbly (my wife loves champagne) and chat. Each person gets a fondue fork and we have french bread and green apples to dip into her secret cheese blend which is thinned with Pinot Grizio wine.
Then we have 2 ea for the table where we can have 8-10 people around. We don't do fondues that often anymore but it's a great way to visit as everyone has to slow their roll to cook their steak (we use top sirloin now) on the forks rather than just carve up a hunk. It makes for some great conversation as the dinners usually last about 2-3 hrs as everyone gets into them.
We use to have a forth pot for chocolate dipping for desert but it gave up the ghost a couple decades ago and we just never replaced it. Most everyone is full after dinner and my wife has switched her desert tastes to s'mores. She has a little Sterno fire pot and the fix'ns arrayed around it in a kit she got so everyone can get their marsh mellows the way they like them and make their own.
I'm surprised that our younger neighbors like fondues and s'mores but they are a big hit so we keep doing it.
