No, it wasn't you, I was jumping the gun. Those comments seem to always show up in discusions of various ranges and types of guns, it did in the "30-30 can't do it" thread, and has numerous times in the past. It's almost as bad as some Marlin vs Winchester threads. Malamute

Marlins vs Winchesters...I'm glad you brought that up!

I just wish most Marlins were as sleek as a Winnie (my Marlin Cowboy is an exception), but Marlins have Winnies beat as far as smithing and cleaning goes. There are no drop in trigger kits for Winchesters unless you call scrounging up pre rebounding safety parts a trigger kit. I wish all my Winchesters had the same trigger as my grandfather's 94 made in 1917. It doesn't break like a glass rod, it breaks like a capillary tube! It has never seen a smith. The rest of the Winchesters need a talented gunsmith's attention. Oh yeah, there is a kit to hide the fact that you removed the cross bolt safety for Marlins. OK, flame away. I got my Nomex undies on!
