OT - A couple of books some might enjoy reading
I recently received a couple of books in the 'mail. "Bible In Pocket, Gun In Hand" and "The Man Who Moved A Mountain" They are (or were) both available via amazon.com's used book section. The first is an account of religion on the US frontier. It makes for interesting reading even though I don't agree with all the author's assertions. It reminds me a lot of our current local religious scene... And then there's "The Man Who Moved A Mountain" which is a biography of Bob Childress who was born and raised near Buffalo Mountain in Virginia. The conditions mentioned were similar to those where I was raised, though in a different decade and on a different continent. Anyway, there's plenty of cogitation material in both of them.

AmBraCol,
The book titled "Man Who Moved A Mountain" is about my relatives. As a fellow Christian, I'm sure you will enjoy some of the solutions Bob Childers comes up with for the problems he faced. I won't spoil it for you--you'll just have to read it.

One of my favorite parts was when his kid threw a shoe out of the train window. Bob took the other shoe and threw it out saying, "One shoe is not much good without the other."

Rusty, I went to Amazon.com and did a search for the titles. They are connected to a wide variety of used book stores. I picked them up for a couple bucks apiece plus shipping. My copy of "The Man Who Moved A Mountain" was printed back in '70 or so, but is in excellent shape.
