Winchester 94 takes another.
I was moving in on some deer yesterday.
Got down to 170yards or so but being dressed in drab in a snow covered field meant I'd soon be spotted by the 8-9 pairs of eyes! To be fair, I did quite well to get that close and it took an hour. If I had my sticks I may of been tempted to take a shot but not off hand.
After they left I went and sat under a large oak and watched it go dark.
A pheasant wasn't pleased in a nearby slang of birch, oak, ash. Then a hare came running out ears down! Hmm I thought..... sure enough a few minutes later a fox appears. Nearly dark now I use my bino's to identify the form at about 80 yards. Adjusting my position carefully to take a shot pending I can see my sights it decided to walk towards me! I check my sights against some snow, it keeps coming, at 40 yards it stops. I can see next to nothing, just a form of something and my flouresant green painted front sight barely visible just underneath the form.
The silence was shattered in the valley by the Remington ammo and the fox was thrown onto a patch of snow very dead.
Another big dog fox down to the 30wcf. Somebody gotta do it....!

Oh man...my FAVORITE.....If there was some sort of a Pulitzer prize for humorous photography I'd say Nate would be the winner....
It's that poop eatin gritty look and the way he holds the fox....astounding! Well done Nath! You do great by holding his mouth open and the tongue hanging out...I like that picture so much I saved it...
What a great way to start the day.......
Looks cold there.....somehow I always picture England as being fog covered and misty........I've never been more that a mile or two from where I was born......------006

I had to blow that photo up!
I couldn't tell what with the camo n'all if he was shooting or sh.........pooping!
Besides, knowing my luck with these deer this year, if I wore white, I guarantee the field would of been green!

That fox was living the dream friend. Catching hen pheasants regularly by the feathers everywhere. Digging baby rabbit nests out and no doubt eyeing the ewes about to lamb.
At least when it came it came quick and via a 30-30. He could of been peppered with shot by a frustrated farmer!
He was, they are, beautiful animals though.
