Blue Dot discontinued
Big Dave just called me and told me that Alliant has discontinued Blue Dot.
That’s not good news.

Re: Blue Dot discontinued
It certainly isn't good news! It's been one of my favorites for both pistol and shotgun reloading for decades. Can I get by without it? Of course I can. But it's still one powder I'll miss once I run out of it.Scott Tschirhart wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 4:45 pm Big Dave just called me and told me that Alliant has discontinued Blue Dot.

Re: Blue Dot discontinued
According to my google search, Blue Dot is not the discontinued powder. The discontinued powder is IMR Blue.
I use Blue Dot in my 10 gauge reloads and have used it for both handgun and rifle loads. I hope it will remain available.

That's better news! I'm totally unfamiliar with IMR Blue, so it wont affect me.

Well that sucks. I just worked up a good Blue Dot 10 gauge load. Now I'll have to go back to the drawing board.Scott Tschirhart wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 4:45 pm Big Dave just called me and told me that Alliant has discontinued Blue Dot.

Oh, good deal. I guess I should have read down a little bit before commenting.
