Got a new case for a few of my levers

Post by meanc »

Went and picked up a new Pelican 1750 case this morning.

Didn't really need it, but for $100 it was too good of a deal to pass up. Plus, I have a few 24" levers that I didn't want banging around in the safe with the general population.

Anyway, I got it home and started measuring and positioning the levers around trying to figure out the best way to get all 5 in there. I finally figured a way to make them all fit and still have enough room for one more. :D

So, I started cutting foam and about 2 1/2 hours later that part was complete. Now I just need to put in some retention straps to keep the ones in the lid from falling free when opening and closing.

After playing with this thing, I highly recommend getting one. It's been said that they'll fit two pretty comfortably, but with a bit of tinkering, I can see easily getting four in there.

I got the idea initially that you are going to store the rifles in that case all the time. If you are, be careful, some cases actually cause rust problems due to moisture being retained. If you're not going to store them there and I misunderstood ... oops, sorry.

Just to let you know, these things have two 2-inch roller wheels and a drag handle, as well as a carry handle.

I've wheeled it around a few times and it doesn't get any easier than this, even on carpet.

Also, This will definitely be a permanent storage case for these rifles. That is until I get my "man room", then they go on a wall. :)

I've used two of the Pelican 1400 cases as permanent storage for several of my revolvers going on 15yrs now. I've never had any problems with moisture. Each has always had one of the big dessicant bags though, so I'm sure that helps. I plan on getting about 3 or 4 for this one, too.
