We had bees a couple years. Mites were definitely a challenge.

Plant oils like thymol are interesting. Eucalyptol seems to help kill covid for instance

Plants have to fight mites and viruses and fungi and bacteria so no surprise they'd make stuff to kill them.

We had Russian Honey Bees who were mite resistant. They would actually eat mites off one another unfortunately Hive Moths were able to wipe them out after my neighbor weakened them by spraying a pesticide that blew down on the hives.
