The No.1, .38-55 is a keeper for sure!!
Every once in a while, you pick up something that grabs your attention, for me it was the Maple stocks and half round/ octagon barrel, and when you have it out for the first time you realize you just found a forever rifle!
Took the Ruger out with three different loads for the same 249 gr. LFN bullet that has worked so well in my '94 Winchester.
Shooting off a sand bag at 50 yds.
Five shot groups;
Center target was the first up,
24 gr, IMR-4198 gave me 2 1/4"
Left target was 28 gr. of Varget at 1 1/2"
Right target is 28.5 of Varget at 3/4"!
The winner of the day;
The rifle was missing the aperture so I robbed one off of another rifle. I have two more on the way and I'll move back to 100 yds when they get here and pick the size that gives me a little better sight picture.
Happy camper!!

Thanks guys!
I'm really looking forward to getting back out with this one and see what it will do at 100 yds.

I love that rifle, caliber it's in, everything about it!

I missed this,
Thanks Nath,
Can't wait to get this one out again. The replacement apertures I ordered should be here this week. Really want to see what I can do at 100 yds and then 200.

That's the first straight stock No.1 conversion I've seen. I like it. Excellent cartridge, too.
