Brass Ejector Rod Housing

Post by NonPCnraRN »

Has anyone or company produced a brass ejector rod housing? I am anticipating changing the long gripframe on a 7.5" SBH to a brass Blackhawk gripframe. I thought that a brass ejector rod housing would be a nice accent touch to go along with the brass grip. If not, is it possible to have a steel ejector rod brass plated to match the frame?

Yes, at one time somebody did make one. A member by the name of flatgate over on The Ruger Forum ( http://www.rugerforum.com/ ) had one at one time, and mentioned the manufacturers name. I don't remember it though.

I suppose most any plating shop could brass plate an ejector rod housing.

.
I made myself a steel ejector rod housing for my SBH last year, but haven't had time to put a blued finish on it. Brass would probably be easier to make. I got tired of looking at the junky factory Aluminum housing on my pistol. I made mine so that the part opposite the ejector is a half octagon, it doesn't show up in the pictures that well. I just wanted something different that nobody else had. If you can't find anybody who makes them maybe we could work out something if I can get some free time.

Not to hijack this post, but DW444 - who did the engraving on your SBH cylinder, and what is it?

I switched out the aluminum ejector-rod housing on my SBH for a steel one a long time ago. Really happy with it!!! :D
