I still have the original tee shirt with the Leverguns logo ( thanks Darrel ) it's hard to find any actor to honestly endorse gun rights although they don't mind using them on screen to make their fortunes... I do like the sentiment of the OP tee shirt though...

I ran the grey shirts that Six shows. It was a lot of work and inevitablely some folks will not be happy with the outcome but it was nice to correspond with everyone and do something for the group.
I'm doubtful the shirts need a re-design as the original one was pretty decent, but open to ideas. If were going to put anyone's face on it, it should be Paco's and not some irrelevant Hollywood star. Paco or bust. -Tutt

Guys, we have permission from Paco to use his likeness for a t-shirt. He is going to send a photo of him with a Levergun to whoever needs it. We may post the photo here. Any real interest from the board?
Anyone have any experience making a t-shirt or maybe a spouse who has done so before? I can look for companies to make the shirt, but have no idea how to design the shirt itself. This sounds really neat IMHO, hoping enough interest to design and make a new Levergun's t-shirt!!! -Tutt

I think the old logo over his black and white or antiqued color or b/w picture would look great myself! Does anyone have the digital transcript/whatever of the old logo? I don't know who even made it. I would buy 3 this time, maybe even 4 to keep one in posterity. -Tutt
P.S Wait, I just re-read the thread. Yooper2, were you involved and in what way exactly? We could turn over the digital version (I'm guessing that is what is needed?) to another company to actually make the t-shirts. I don't think that is terribly difficult. I know nothing about making t-shirts so please educate me. -T-

I ran the last series of shirts. Somebody showed one of the first run (white T with black collar) in a post and I thought it would be fun to make another run.
I think I just copied the logo from the main leverguns site banner as a screen shot and trimmed it in Microsoft Paint. We had a local guy that did all the kids sports team uniforms and I gave him the pdf and approximate size.
I ran a couple threads asking for people to PM me with sizes, quantities, and their addresses which I put into a spreadsheet. The local postman recommend soft sided mailing envelopes and I figured out the average cost of shipping for everyone and charged a flat rate. I ended up fronting the cost of all the shirts and once they were done asked people to send funds, crossing them off my spreadsheet as I mailed them. Worked out well but it's a lot of work and a substantial outlay of money. Think the shirts ended up being 5 or 6 bucks a piece and we ended up doing 150 or so. Ended up taking a couple months and I did get stiffed on about 10 shirts which was frustrating.
As a group we decided to subsidize the cost of free shirts for Paco, Paul, Hobie, and maybe JimT? Don't recall anymore.

Above is the old sign up thread, many more people just PM'd me with their shirt orders. Couldn't find the original discussion where we decided on the style/color.
Thank you for your service to the board Eric, that was very, very kind of you to do so. OK, screen shot, check, I can do that. Photo from Paco, incoming. I did ask Jim T. if he would ask Paco for a "tag line" or "moniker" to go underneath the photo that he might like. I don't want to ask much of Paco as he is undergoing health problems, but he seems to be doing better gradually. He was willing to send us a photo. Perhaps he will send us a "motto" he would like underneath his picture. You and I and anyone here would not be having this discussion without Paco. It seems fair to develop a t-shirt that he would approve of. Regards, -Tutt

So my memory ISN'T failing as bad as I thought. I couldn't for the life of me recall the t-shirt episode. We were up north May to August of 2015, right when it all went down, we were busy putting 15,000 miles on a vehicle so no wonder I'd no memory of the t-shirts.

I was in Africa at the time. I don't think I ever saw one and I do not remember the discussion about them. Our internet was spotty there and we had times when we had no electricity for a month. But I like the idea and thank you Eric for doing that.
I have a lot of respect for Mr. Eastwood, but he did not create this forum, nor was he ever a DEA agent, nor a handloader. I kind of think we will go with a picture of Paco, and whatever motto he chooses first. It's his forum after all. After that, if not, maybe a really cool motto I found from Jeff Quinn to honor them both.
Sincerely,
-Tutt

Well, I received a copy of a photo that might work. I am excited about it! It might have been sent to me before according to McPherson, but I do not remember seeing it and would have thought I would remember it. What do you guys think? This was most likely taken when Paco was on an African Levergun Safari in 2006 according to Jim Taylor. I darkened it up a bit using the "shadow" function of my laptop. It was the only feature that helped improve the picture some! None else did. Please advise, -Tutt

I was taking a break when this thread started. I would sign up for 4. 2 large and 2 XL.

That's a great picture. If someone could "photoshop" or "GIMP" it to remove the background and leave just Paco and the rifle, it'd look pretty good and work great on a shirt. With the background "noise" it's a bit "busy" for a tshirt in my opinion.

Something along the lines of this, although it'd be better done by someone who knows what they're doing. You could put the logo in the top left corner, or perhaps down below, or whatever. I just think that cleaning it up a bit would make it more impactful.

Surely, if we are honoring Paco, we can do better than just the back and side of his head.

Guys, I have truly tried my best to get a good photo. My request went from me to a number of Shootists and was forwarded to even more Shootists who I didn't have contact information for by McPherson. This is the only photo that showed some promise. I will see who can edit the background out well. The original photo included the bars of the Quad that Paco took the shot from. McPherson somehow edited that out quite well. The original photo was unusable but the photo shopped one showed some promise after editing out the Quad. I knew some would bristle at it being a BLR with a scope, but that's what Paco used for that African hunt, so there ya go! Old Savage, the Winchester Model '88 is also a "front locker" and "lever actuated bolt gun" as you know and it came out much earlier (BLR 1971, Model '88 1955). -Tutt

Andy, if you can find someone to do the editing, another good option might be to turn the background erased version into "line art". I know there's apps/filters/whatever that can do that. As this is for a t-shirt the simpler the better (in my opinion). As for the naysayers about the rifle, angle, etc - that's a pretty decent profile shot of Paco and it's a levergun. Somehow I don't recall Paco ever being a levergun snob in the idea of looking down on a particular type because it's "not authentic". As far as that goes, it wouldn't be too hard for a real pic editor whiz to morph that BLR into a Civil War era Henry, 1873 Winchester or Savage 99. But the pic is of Paco on a hunt shooting a levergun. What's not to like?

Paul, I agree, and see no need to "morph" the Lever gun into anything else than what he actually used for the hunt. Will look for an editor who can erase the background.
