I've forgotten the title of one of my favorite Louis L"Amour books. In it the hero's girl friend gets kidnapped about 2/3rds through the book by his arch enemy and is held captive in a box canyon. The girl is eventually rescued by the hero after a prolonged gun fight in the box canyon.
Does anyone know the title of this book?

To Tame a Land. It's one of my favorites.
"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen" - Samuel Adams
