It is funny - the little KelTec is accurate enough I really do think it 'deserves' optics, yet the gun design is more of a 'backup' gun you'd typically have some sort of 'rugged, basic, iron sight' on...
In case you are interested in trying another option, there are some 45-degree offset picatinny-rail mounts that look like HO-railroad track (thin enough they don't protrude AT ALL above the existing rail, and I've messed with trying those. One will work for a Burris Fastfire or similar tiny optic, and I don't know if they make longer ones, but two separate ones could be used for a bigger scope I suppose. Then you can fold the gun, and a 45-degree scope (or irons) on a short carbine like that is actually pretty easy to use fast and effectively.

So far what I've done with mine is just get some accessories from MCARBO -
https://www.mcarbo.com/kel-tec-sub-2000 ... ories.aspx - they make some improved sights and so-on.
What started out as a "cheap truck-gun" winds up being something I think is 'better' than that, and if I'm not careful, I'll put enough money into it that it won't be a "truck gun" anymore....

I did the same thing with my SKS a few years ago; that, plus they went up in cost. Probably the same thing will happen with the KelTec SUB-2000's...
I guess if a person wants a "cheap truck-gun" you really have to find a beater, or buy TWO of whatever it is....
