First thing first- I don't like Walmart. But when it comes to ammo, I will swallow my pride. I have been checking in regularly at the one store in my area that stocks reloading supplies for six months or so. Stopped in a couple days ago and what do I see? Primers! CCI SRP's for 3.98 per 100. Their always empty powder shelf had 10 or so bottles of assorted powders for avg of $27 per. Titegroup for 20.48! A different store had CCI 22lr Quiets for 3.48 with a limit of 3.
Not holding my breath, but thought I would share, hoping this might be a pinhole of light at the end of the tunnel.
Shock and awe. I must be living right

Good for you! I agree as I will not spend a dime there....the closest one is about 10 miles down the road and there's good chance your vehicle won't be where you parked it as an added incentive not to shop there.

Glad you got some more components.

Good to see some stuff trickling back in.

Re: Shock and awe. I must be living right
The other morning I stopped by my gun shop to see what was available.
They had more ammo on the shelves then I've seen in a year!
I was probably the ninth or tenth person in the store that morning.
So perhaps things are looking up for fool's like me who never learned reloading!
When I move next to Sixgun he will teach me how to make bullet's!
He will become my best friend and mentor! We will wear matching overall's and buffalo coats!
I'll invite him over for fried giblets and okra. We can drink some Old English 800 tall boy's together.
I recently purchased the entire Shaft dvd collection from our local Walmart.
Sixgun had recently mentioned that he was a big fan of the franchise.
When he's just about finished his sweet potato pie and ninth tall boy, I'll surprise him with the dvd set!
I can see us learning the lyrics to the theme from Shaft together!
Then perhaps we can due a duet at a local Korokke bar.
Can you see both of us crooning the theme to Shaft sharing a microphone with matching overalls and buffalo coats!
The local Japanese population that frequent the Korokke bar haven't seen anything like this since Mike Tyson and Kamala Harris sung a
wonderful version of Elton John and Keke D's Don't go breaking my heart!
Just kidding everybody!
Have a good day!

Not many good sporting / gun stores within a 30 mile drive here. the stores that do have ammo are a laugh a minute. 30-30 @ $39.00 , 12 gauge buckshot $37.00 , 100 round .223 $149.00. 1000 round boxes of .223 $849.00. one had a box of about 50 tin's of percussion caps on the shelf behind the counter for $8.99 .
I bet the J&k show in D.C. would be appalled to see where a lot of people are spending the stimulus money!! ...... .
