Ghost Ring Sights

Post by Dakota53 »

I have a Marlin .410 Lever Action Shotgun that I hunt with here in NJ and would like to put a Ghost Ring Sight on it (if thats a good idea) I'm a bit of a beginner at this although my gameplan is to also get a Marlin 30 30 & 39A when I get the money. Any suggestions on a Ghost Ring sight would be welcome - Thanks Jay

I know very little about the Marlin .410. Is it tapped for scope mounts???
You would have to drill and tap to mount any kind of peep on it.

A gost ring will be fine even for a shotgun. I mounted a Weaver K1 scope on my Rem.1100 for turkey hunting, took it to the trap range and ran 25 straight with it at 16 yards. People were looking at it and me like I was nuts untill that round was over. Then they all wanted to look at it and try it out! :o

B 4 U spend the $$$$, Jay, You might consider checking with the New Jersey Fish & Game Dept, whatever, to see if the .410 slug is legal for game. It is not, in my state.

If it's just for your plinking pleasure, enjoy. 8)

I think he's bird hunting?

I would suggest the XS sights - they are durable and fully adjustable - I'd go with a large bead for the front sight though - like a Marlbles with large brass bead.

If you are deer hunting with it - that's fine too - these will work well for that as well.
