Had a spare set of wood stocks that came off a 500 and installed them on my 590A1.
I like it much better, can't go wrong with wood & steel.
What do you think?

I like it better. Reminds me of a 500 I had once, came with wood (no gloss) had parkerized metal, with bayonet lug. One of the ones that got away and I wouldn't mind having that one back.

I love wood. I'm a carpenter and woodworker by heritage, in fact one of my German ancestors was named after a fir tree. I am a master carpenter by trade. I love wood. that is why I don't like it on my guns. My guns get rough handled and end up with scratches, so I like plastic. I hate seeing scratches in the wood after a long hunt crawlin around through animal trails etc. I traded off one of the nicer wood guns I ever had because it was too pretty and I knew I would ruin it.
Anyway, nice 590. I've done some combat drills with the ones they issue us. The Mossy is bullet proof and reliable.

I once had an unfired one like yours Never fired . , But hated the plastic feel. Traded even for a Winchester Defender . It had wood and only slightly used .

I hear ya. I am more comfortable with stuff that isn't easily ruined. When I get a pump, it'll probably be packerized/synthetic.
Salvo, that does look pretty neat. Kinda reminds me of a milsurplus gun. Which is a good thing.
