But LOTS of cleaning to do before he can use it all...

OK...cool.....but.....I'd rather have a two room log cabin with a 8 x 10 root cellar in the green hills/mountains of the East. I'd go nuts looking at that dry wasteland everyday.

Living underground would get old real fast......after the war my uncle was stationed in Greenland with the promise of a "girl behind every tree" and when he got there he found there was no trees...(that's for real)...the suicide rate of his fellow soldiers was very high due to living in those conditions....I'd imagine it would be the same living in the desert.

Unlike Six I love the sage brush country! I could live like that with ease. And with blast doors ya wouldn't need to worry about unwanted guests!

Same here. I could easily live in sagebrush country. But living underground with no view of the outside world would be terrible. Really wont matter where it is if you can't look out the windows to see it.

.

This guy isn’t building an underground house.

He’s building a regular house on top of the ground. It’s just that his “basement” entrance will lead to the silo complex.

Oh! Well, I did see the part where he was laying out the house.....I still don't like it...too blah! But that's me...different strokes for different folks. Even when visiting my son out in Colorado I can't wait to get home where everything is lush and green with rolling hills..........they can have that brown/tan landscape....with snakes and scorpions... :D ----006

I agree about having to have hills and trees. But it would be good to have a cave or something like that as a sort of a hide out if you needed it. Maybe I should live in Tennessee someplace where there’s lots of caves and hills and trees. :D

A tour of a silo that is still in original condition.

Amazing engineering. I wonder how much one silo cost to make? Billions I’m guessing.
