$12.00 Hat.

Post by gamekeeper »

Whilst at the local market today I spotted this hat, thought it would be ok for hunting...felt like it was made of straw but the label says paper... Oh we'll see how it stands up to British weather...

Never been to England. I could turn the shower to cold and lower the pressure to get the same weather. Texas? We have heat. Not much weather. Of course, we only have to deal with ice and snow about two weeks every ten years. Rain? Just enough. Barely! 8)

The coldest I've ever been in my life was London in January! Those cold, damp and dark days are something to experience.

Cool hat by the way. :D

I have seen something that looks like that on a singer/hunter/pro hunting activist in some magazine ads. GK, you need to take a picture of yourself wearing it and holding a bow and arrows.

NICE HAT!
I would walk around London with you.
:D
My wife and I spent a week in Cambridge with friends. He took us to London where we saw the sights. He said it was a nice day. I about froze and was wet from the drizzle but apparently that passes for nice.
My hat did not draw much attention.

Unbeknownst to G-K we are always watching every word he says and what its meaning might be..... G-K just heard a new term, "one thunker" As in: when it fell off the bench I only heard one thunker!
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Careful now, I'm from Birmingham in the West Midlands, known as a Brumie and renowned for having the worst accent in Britain!
We use phrases that folks from outside the area can't understand, so "one thunker" would work and soon be incorporated into the the local dialect just like #7 Narf shot....

But,,,, is your "Larch" the same as our Tamarack? (A tree which has needles that it sheds every autumn, a deciduous conifer.)

As far as I know yes they are closely related, the Larch needles turn orange and fall, one of my favourite trees.

G-K, can you get any fatwood from them or resin?

There is resin but I didn't notice any fatwood to speak of. The Larch I cut up was about100 years old and had been dead a while. It burns well and hardly leaves any ash.

With GK all you need is an Indian and you have 3/4 of the village people.
