OT - Won my first gunbroker auction
Bought a mossberg bolt action 20ga for a project gun. It will be used by my wife to squirrel hunt with and eventually by my children who are now only 2 and 3. I started all my hunting madness with a 410 Mossberg bolt action. Look where it has lead me now!!! Y'all have a good night, Goat

my first firearm was a mossberg .20 gauge which I think I bought from sears or montgomery wards, just can't remember. Wow I was in the woods all the time, chasing tree rats, quail, rabbits, dove, and deer. Very fond memories. thanks for your post.

Congratulations! I recently came across a good buy on a Stevens 12 ga Bolt Action. The stock was the only thing that really looked rough. I stripped it and cleaned it up nice and re-stained it. It almost looks to good now to be a truck gun as originally planned. They are definately economical utility guns.

Never really expected much response to this post but just had to share. My first gun was a Mossberg 183T bolt action 410 that I watched my Dad purchase at the local hardware store. That experience took place in 1978. I really was not all that excited since the gun is right handed and I shoot long guns left handed. My Dad had to take about four inches off of the stock for me to be able to handle it at all. That fall I killed my first squirrel and the madness began. A few years later we moved to an area with lots of rabbits and my brother got a pack of beagles. I really thought I was something when I killed that first big ole swamp rabbit. A few years ago my wife killed her first squirrel with that very same gun! There are a lot of memories tied up in that collection of blued steel and wood. I hope that not only do my children get started with that 410 but also their children too. Hopefully this"new" 20 ga. will grow its own memories as well. Thanks for reading and thanks for your posts.

Hi there. I work for a website, www.bidnapper.com that helps you place bids on GunBroker. I came across this post and though I would mention it. It places your bid near the end of the scheduled endtime to give you a competative advantage, similar to eBay. It is currently available for free.

What about the 15 minute rule?

The 15 minute rule automatically allows auctions to continue after the posted close time. The close time will continue to be extended by 15 minutes everytime a higher bid for an item is placed until a bid stands for 15 minutes. I saw a Browning A-Bolt 12 gauge auction go on for well over an hour after the posted close time.
