Yep, and you soon learned that they weren't dirt tracks for racing either. After the wife's laundry got muddy when hanging to dry, the neighbor's have a little talk about... well, neighborliness! :P

Nice advice in the link too. I like living in a rural area and don't plan on changing that anytime soon.

BTW, 3rd pic down is totally awsome! I love big ol' fireplaces. :D

I dont live on a dirt road.....
but i do live out in a country subdivision....
love the smell of cow and horse manure in the morning..

If You live waaaaaaaaay out in the country where there is little traffic dirt roads are o.k. but I live in a rural area and my road is a country bypass around town. :( .
I soon learned to despise the "Dukes of Hazard" mentality. they paved it eight years ago and there are no fond memories here. Jim.

I can remember it well. I grew up on a dirt road, no gravel just dirt. What a quite place back in the woods.

Very good - :D

I drive 15 ks from town on bitumen then another 11.5 on the dirt. It's got all the features: sections of slippery clay, loose gravel, sand patches and corrugations. Seldom see another vee-hickle :lol:

I still live on a dirt road. Washboard and all. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Don't get much "Dukes of Hazzard" action though.... it is a dead end road. :lol:
