Re: Found.....
I love when I find guns I forgot about.
Several years ago I was cleaning out a closet in the guest room and found two side by side shotguns. I still don’t know where or when but who am I to argue with fate.

So I check under the bed covers an lo and behold, a magnum research lone eagle .358 winchester ! I think that I had had it ordered circa 1998.....
It was beginning to get a bit fuzzy but not yet freckled or pitted.....A brisk brushing with ronsonol followed by a slathering of ballistol shined her right up.
Way back in the memory bank i recall a foggy dawn in a marshy meadow. A 2 3/4x redfield, a rem. 180gr. jhp and 36gr. IMR 4198 with a m-14 magazine pouch for a holster.
A mangy old dog coyote had mounted a little red vixen just as I lined-up the crosshairs.....A sweetgum branch intervened and saved his life. I hope they learned their lesson that to spawn pups in the dark is much safer....
Now what to do with it ?
I'm thinking a red dot or holographic of some kind.
HMMM, the only thing I ever found was a folded pair of socks...

A few years ago I was digging through my closet and found a couple of Colt Police Positives that I thought I'd sold at a show. Bonus!

You're ahead of me. All I ever find are dryer sheets.

the only thing I have ever found under a bed, let alone under a mattress was a dust bunny... not sure if they were in season either... :O

Re: Found.....
I don’t know about a red dot recommendation, but it is always fun to find a firearm you forgot you had, or even a scope or box of magazines whatever. Last thing like that for me was fairly boring and was only worth about $160; I found four stripped AR lowers I forgot I had ordered before the last presidential election for $39 apiece....

I had an old Burris Speed Dot that took everything a BFR in 45-70 could dish out...also, it spend a few hundred rounds on my 629PP with 300gr loads....

Aimpoint or Trijicon. Tru Glo red dots are made to hold up to 3.5" 12 gauge loads....

Yes they are pricey, but they work and you only cry once, when you pay for it. Paid $405 for my Aimpoint 9000L with 2moa dot in 2010 and have never regretted it. Paladin or Mr. Murphy convinced me to take the Aimpoint over the Trijicon. Todd/3leg

I had completely forgotten about the very interesting Lone Eagle. Do you recall what sort of accuracy it gave, Ray?

Re: Found.....
I'll tell you what really sucked for me.
I got a used SPARC AR Red Dot,. Maybe from someone here.
After a few uses, the two rubber capped controls on the back went tits up. Almost impossible to shut off, and zero brightness control. What a disappointment.
