a word of thanksgiving

Post by Grizz »

yesterday I came exactly one hair breadth from initiating an accident on Hwy 3. I wound up spinning out of lane 2 onto the median, pointing north at the oncoming southbound traffic, which at that point the median was a car width wide with a 20-some foot drop to the 3 lanes of northbound below me.

angels literally moved the stern of my car onto the narrow shoulder and stopped the car from rolling off the narrow flat spot, into the traffic below. it's the ONLY RATIONAL EXPLANATION for what I saw and felt in those very few moments.

as the car was rotating and I was watching the abyss develop I prayed, "NO NO NO NO NO".

I am sharing this because a. I'm too stupid to be a stunt driver, and 2. I prayed the only prayer I could think of, and c. putting a car in the only possible safe spot, and preventing a mass casualty accident in the northbound lanes, and preventing me from killing my wife, is the business of Christ in us, and last-ish, no matter how tough our situation, nothing is too tough or too quick for our Loving Creator to manage. I hope this encourages someone else who might be in an out-of-control hard spot

no injuries of any kind to anyone on that road at that time, and the margins for that are thinner than a razors edge . . .

all this to once again lift up and magnify and glorify Yahweh and Yeshuah

It takes an absolute dolt to disbelieve miracles in general and guardian angels in particular.

I believe the greatest interventions on our behalf are not the obvious like you experienced but the secret, unknown ones.

Little annoyances like a dawdling child or spouse when you're late for something or big ones such as a malfunctioning automobile engine or a flat tire or a traffic jam could actually be beneficial delays to avoid eminent deadly disasters.

I've learned this too. I am thankful for unexpected delays BECAUSE, as you observe, they ADJUST the timing of future events.

And my (our) time

Been through a few similar things; hard not to believe there is a Guiding Hand there that has our back.

Glad you are OK. Yesterday I got a speeding ticket. Not fifteen minutes later I was less than a minute late for a 3 car wreck. Then I was just able to miss a 2 car wreck about 5 miles further. Maybe the ticket was what was needed to keep me from having a serious wreck. No, I would not have wanted the ticket, but those wrecks were bad.
