Need prayer for my Dad!

Post by piller »

My Mom called me at work today. She had to call 911 for my Dad. He was talking funny, and saying strange things. No alcohol in the house, so he was not drunk. Mom said the Paramedics had him stick out his tongue. They said something, got on the radio and immediately loaded him up and took him to the local CCU. Mom got a call for permission to do a CAT scan and something else. She is too upset to remember what it was. I suspect a stroke. At 62 years of marriage, Mom is not ready to hear it if things get worse.

My Dad had similar symptoms after his first stroke. He did recover though, so stiff upper lip.

Brian, prayers for your Mom and Dad, and for you. Hope the docs got the clot-buster in him right away, and your father recovers fully.

My Brother Stephen, who has power of attorney, checked on him. Not much to tell. He is still in there and showing symptoms of severe depression.

He is home now. My brother and Sister in Law who live in Denver are moving my Parents in with them. My Dad's health is becoming such that he will need more care than what my Mother can give. At 90, and less than a month from 91, he is just not as strong and active as he once was. Age gets to all of us, but it is not easy to watch your parents reach the age where they are fragile.

I walked through that stage of life with my parents about 12 years ago.
It was like I became the parent and they the children.
It was extremely difficult in some instances.
Then Dad developed Alzheimer's ... I can tell you from experience a heart attack is kinder.
BUT .. we made it through it.
Now I am heading toward Old Fartism myself!
