This place has kept me sane
Have been unable see out of my left eye since late january. Had detached retina in late July 'last year that was repaired . Cataracts grew rapidly since... Go in tomirrow to take care of it. So hopefully by Friday I'll be able to see well to shoot again. Aint been abke to concentrate on much last few days. They wouldnt do it sooner because of the china flu stuff, being able to see isnt considered an emergency ir life threatening! Only the 3rd time in my life I'll be having surgery. thanks all Todd/3leg

A good friend of mine had cataract surgery this past winter and now he can see better than ever. Its amazing what the doctors can do now. I am sure you will be out shooting again soon. Good luck with your surgery.

Re: This place has kept me sane
I wish You All the best, I had cataracts in both eyes that I had replaced with the new lenses. I'm the one in a million that had problems after the surgery , a detached retina in each eye that first had laser surgery in the office and later they completely detached requiring surgery in the hospital to repair. My retina specialist group of doctors claim to know nothing about shooting and the effects of recoil or anything that could have caused My problems. I asked a million questions and this is the look I got . It's been several years and I don't have the balls to shoot any of My big thumpers. people have no idea how debilitating eye problems and the prospect of going blind can be until it happens to them. Prayers Up.

Prayers up for a successful surgery. The bad news, is you lose any excuse for missing the target now....

Re: This place has kept me sane
The list of surgeries many states consider "elective" is ridiculous currently under covid 19 restrictions! And "life threatening" is also a poor choice of reasons to not perform surgeries these days! They don't even look at pain and suffering, or quality of life, when they decide whether a surgery can be done or not!
I spent months having gallbladder attacks every couple days, and in extreme pain from a bad gallbladder, and a 1" diameter gallstone. Numerous trips to ER, until they finally decided my blood pressure was so high from the pain it might give me a stroke, so they admitted me and did the surgery.
At the same time I was waiting for gallbladder surgery, I was also waiting for hernia surgery, with about 8" of small intestine hanging outside under my skin, causing a lot of pain also. They finally approved fixing the hernia last Friday, but only because they're beginning to relax surgery restrictions.
The people making these decisions should be forced to go through what they're putting others through! Maybe then they'd look at these "elective" surgeries differently. It's about as stupid as anything the government has their hands on, and they all should be shot.
I sure hope your surgery goes great, and you're back to 100% when they're done!
