B 86 short rifle

Post by 1886 »

Thought you guys might enjoy this rifle. It is a B 86 that has had its barrel and mag. tube chopped to 18". The prior owner told me that Adco did the work but I have not verified this. I will attempt to call them this week to see if this is the type of work they might undertake. The work was well done. Note the 6 holes drilled on top of the barrel. Condition is great with just a couple of light handling marks on the wood. What a heavy cover rifle this baby would make, maybe Africa. Thanks for looking. 1886.

How long before you put an forward mounted LER scope on it? I felt like I was falling when I looked at the first photo.

Hey J. How does yours shoot with cast? The rifling looks real shallow. Thanks. 1886.

Gary,

First outing was with Cast Performance 405 WFNGCs & Varget. Shooting offhand at @ 70 yds I was getting 1 to 1 1/2" groups.

The rifling in mine looks shallow too especially compared to my Marlin. Shoots great though. I haven't shot it from a rest yet. The sights stink. Shoots about 12" high at 70 yds. Front sight is a replacement that is about half as high as it should be. It's going off the the gun smith soon to have the side mount holes filled, sights redone ( gotta make a decision on what I want to do) and a refinish. Found the stocks I want, just have to get them ordered.
