OT; Ruger Old Army; nipple size?

Post by 2571 »

I don't have a nipple wrench for the used pistol I bought Sun. Anybody know the size of the Ruger hexagon nipple? Buddy says a 6 point socket is better than the mfgr wrench. Of course he can't remember the size. TIA

It's tiny. I don't know it either, but, I haven't had any trouble with my wrench from Ruger. I don't know that it would be any real advantage other than availability.

The wrenches are available. I'd get one, turn out the Ruger nipples and replace with good nipples using a standard wrench. Ummm did I say that out loud?

Yes, I have an ROA.
