Kalifronia Guys - shipping a cap and ball revolver to Kali?

Post by O.S.O.K. »

I have a guy in Kali that won my gunbroker bid for a snub nosed 1860 revolver - any problems you guys know of shipping to him there?

I know that in NJ this'd need to go through an FFL...

ETAP: I checked the NRAILA site for information and it appears that a cap and ball revolver is considered an "antique" under CA law... andybody know different?

Thanks!

It's one of the few things you CAN do legally in that stupid state. But, NO cartridge handguns of ANY age may be shipped to anyone there except through an FFL holder, and that includes Curios and Relic licenses too.

To the best of MY knowledge, no muzzle loading arm is covered in "firearms" regs. We can still buy ML rifles from catalogs direct to you, no FFL.

Thanks guys - did not know about the C&R guns - what's the point of having a C&R in CA then?

We can still have c&r long guns shipped directly to our c&r FFL. I THINK that we can still trade in long guns that are over 50 years old without paper work, I have recently heard that this is now banned so to be safe I stopped untill I can get it checked.
