More than 60,000 NRA members expected in Louisville, with the option of being armed.

03:19 PM EDT on Thursday, May 8, 2008

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - When Sen. John McCain appears at the National Rifle Association’s convention in Louisville not only will his security detail be armed, so will the audience!

Watch this story More than 60,000 members of the National Rifle Association are expected in Louisville May 16-20, and thanks to Kentucky’s concealed carry law, they can bring their guns with them.

Interesting article. I will be attending all four days of the convention. The question begs to be asked: Would Hillary or Obama's security team be more/less concearned about security if they were to attend? :P :P

I suppose my biggest concern is that the Anti's will send in a maryter to do somthing stupid/dangerous/criminal so they can do a "See I Told You So".

Of course, we'd never expect a Leftist Radical to do somthing intentionally just to get arrested and prove a point...

a leftist radical getting arrested ?
never heard of that, of coarse i can only remember back to about 66
or so......and we only lived in san fancisco untill 72 so i mayy have been
living a sheltered life of some sort. and was never ever exposed to
a leftist ideal ever.
i did go to a public school though..

The Lefty had better be prepared...

If the anti's DID send in someone to act a fool to try to bring negative press onto the CCW/gun owners, they'd better have their affairs in order.
I don't think there'd be time for "an arrest." I think anyone trying to threaten Sen. McCain in that crowd would vanish in a pink mist within about a nanosecond of starting whatever their stupid "plan" was. So, if they want to try to pose a danger in THAT audience for publicity's sake, they had, indeed, better be prepared to be a "martyr."

He's probably got more security due to the audience in that room than any other place on earth. I'm glad Kentucky LEO's are handling this in a realistic, down-to-earth fashion. Bet the anti's are foaming at the mouth that they haven't taken the "PARTEI" line re: demonising law-abiding gun owners!

I seriously doubt that we will ever catch Hillary or Obama at a gun show!
I definately think it speaks well of future Pres. McCain's trust!

I heard about 15 years ago that in Ohio, some anti-gun NUT was part of a bunch who were going to gun shows and slipping LIVE ROUNDS into show guns  in the hopes that the resultant 'gun accident' would shut down gun shows. When caught, they showed no shame, indicating that the types of people who go to gun shows are expendable.

I don't think there is a level of lowness to which the anti-gun police-state control-freaks will not stoop.

IMO this is most likely a Political Maneuver by McChurian to try to cover past sins...

I'm not sure he can atone for them though.

Meh.

If the NRA had backed Paul, this would all be academic.

If they do I'll just prove the point, IMHO, of how stupid they are for doing so. Like sending someone out to commit sucide by Police. If they're looking to get shot they probably will.

Also, I like this comment. I think I will keep it to use on my liberal friends.
I'm pro-choice. They should be neither required to be armed, nor prohibited from being armed. They should have the right to choose.
