Big handful of steel
Hopefully will have this by the end of the week.
Uberti 2nd. model Dragoon .44 pretty much new in box, it was a run they called "Old West" made to look old I believe it was some sort of acid wash. according to the date code it was made in 2005.
looked for hours on the internet and can't find another one or anything about them,I know it's not a home made finish because the factory label on the end of the box
says "Old West" and the serial numbers on the label match the guns numbers
I just love the old look of this one I have hade Uberti Dragoon's in the past the pretty blued and shiny brass ones but this is more my speed "Old school"

A handsome piece of ordnance there. Upon ignition ... they roar like no other!

That's almost scary how original that finish looks! It could pass for a nice original Colt if you didn't look for the markings!

Cool....!
I always wondered what holds up the loading ram...it looks like it would open on recoil....?

No Doc, the Dragoon has a latch on the loading lever that actually works.

Just be careful when you shoot Chaney with it and don't let the recoil knock you into the rattlesnake pit.

Re: Big handful of steel
I really like the look of that Dragoon, I once took the shiny new finish off a flintlock pistol, it just didn't look right brand new.

A dull screwdriver, or butter knife can fix that quickly!Mossyoak1957 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 7:29 pmAnd the perfect un bubbed screw heads lolmarlinman93 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2019 7:25 pm That's almost scary how original that finish looks! I am glad someone understood my reference. One of the rare times when Hollywood got the remake right. I like both, and that Dragoon in the movie was right for all the story as far as I know.Mossyoak1957 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 4:58 amOne of my favorite movies, actually I like the new one better then the one with John Wayne.

In The New One? I wonder if they talked in that same cadence, and vocabulary back in the 1800s? They were using that effect in Open Range, as well.piller wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 8:59 pmI am glad someone understood my reference. One of the rare times when Hollywood got the remake right.
