If they're being so generous, why don't they give me all the money they're going to OverTax me for the next 20 years, if they're willing to go one year in advance.

NO! That's not what the article says.

Refunds and rebates are two very different things.

The rebate is the amount of tax that you paid through your employer witholding that the US Govt has decided to give back to you to stimulate the economy. A tax rebate is a once-in-a-blue-moon event, and literally requires an act of Congress to happen.

A refund is OVERPAYMENT / OVERWITHOLDING where you paid in or overwitheld more tax than you were required to pay for your income and financial situation for the year. That's the money that everybody who overpays gets all excited about from late January to late March.

Verstehen Sie?

Thanks for clearing that up Noah. I'll be the first to admit accounting and tax law was never my strong suit.

A rebate is where a merchant temporarily reduces their profit margin on a given product by giving back a portion of the purchase price to those who apply with the intent of buying customer loyalty.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

No need for that.

Don't forget, the government is involved, and it's the tax code, so it's easy to become

So, everyone seems to acknowledge that more money in the hands of average Americans is a good thing. Even the Dem's pushed this (it is an election year after all). So, if that is the case (and it is), why not stop the confiscatory taxation to begin with, and just stick to the actual limits of the little-used document we call the Constitution?!?

My part

Post by HEAD0001 »

I am doing my part. I am spending mine on blue printing and rebarreling a new 700 remington. So my spending should save some one's(American) job. Tom.

accourding to Jay Leno:
If you spend it at wal-mart or k-mart the chinise will get it

If you buy produce the mexicans and hondurans will get it
Best way to keep it in America is give it to a politican. He will spend it on a certified red blooded american PROSTATUTE(sp)

Hey 20cows are you building the lathe or the stand? Either way it looks you are intent on turning out more puzzles faster. I always wanted to be able to do a little machining for gun parts, good luck.

The lathe is Central Machinery 9x20 lathe from Harbor Freight. I'm building the stand mostly out of angle iron with some wooden drawers. I will use the lathe to make wheels (put on one side). The lathe weighs 250 pounds by itself- cart wheels will be a good thing.

I think I'll use the new forge to make the drawer pulls.

I love makin' stuff!

(Wish it was makin' as much money as it is fun!)
