OT-Gripe: 17 minutes

Post by J Miller »

17 minutes, that's all it took to read this forum this morning.

With all the OT topics and political trash there's getting to be less and less to read here.
That's a shame.

2 more minutes to post this and I'm off to another forum looking for something of interest.

I'll be glad when this election is over, I'm sick to death of everything political.

Joe

Indeed...........this whole year has put me on edge........However, the outcome of this year will greatly affect our rights and our sport, I'd say. Especially if SCOTUS doesn't come all the way through for us......Oops, there I go....Sorry.

I think my biggest frustration is the political threads that post cartoons, pictures and things that insult the candidates. Obama this, Hillary that. These posts are not informative and have nothing to do with our sport. They are just band width wasters.

Those political threads that do concern us, like the one about LA considering the semi auto ban are not the problem.

I think most, if not all of us know who we are going to vote for, so 99% of the political candidate posts could stop and we wouldn't miss anything.

Just the way I feel about it.

The problem is, our entire way of life is under assault, so becoming complacent and ignoring the overwhelming opposition is only going to hasten it's demise. The elections will not change that, and depending on who is elected, it will be worse. Thinking we can relax and pretend everything is fine will only result in the loss of our way of life for future generations. Enjoy what you have, but remain vigilant. Forums like these are responsible for the grinding halt the gun control crowd has experienced, but they are regrouping, and an all out assault is forthcoming.

I just skip the topics that don't interest me.

One thing I like about the forum is, we tend to have certain things in common and it's nice to BS with people that 'get it'.

Otherwise, I have to call long-distance to have an intelligent conversation. People here either don't speak English or are raving socialists.

Well Joe,

I went out this afternoon in hopes of helping you out with a range report. One after the other....I got light primer strikes. Set the primers too deep! I will try again this weekend!

505Steve,
If I had a dollar for each time I come on this forum I could buy myself a new Marlin in very short order. It's just that recently there are more OT and political threads than gun threads. I skip over most of them, especially those that run past about the second page, or where folks start butting heads over the topic.

Rusty,
Yeah, there's this contest see.... a bunch of weirdos from AZ, IL, and NY are trying to win it. Which ever one wins can live in a funny looking white building on the east side of the country for the next four years.
I'm not sure why they'd want to though.

C.Cash,
I've never had light primer strikes from seating them too deep. Maybe you need to smack them with a heavier hammer.

Actually, I most usually skip the stuff that dosen't interest me.But I do the same with a newspaper. Unless the subject stands out . " sides I like all you folks . With all the back problems I've had the last year and one half , I haven't been able to enjoy the range . Mostly making trips to the Dr. and this forum , and yes a few others .Took a couple guns out of the safe just to pet'um some.
Last week week another MRI and this thursday another mylogram . Then hopefully the back stabbers can see what needs to be fixed this time. So far it appears the spinal colum is leaking causing a very large ( 6 X 2 ) lupm on my back plus what's inside.
So ya'll keep up the good gun talks . An God bless you All .

:D  " all ways Smile a LIttle "

You could be right...I get occassional light strikes which is unacceptable, but today it was worse than usual and I noticed that I mashed the primers way down below flush. Should have brought the 22 to get my frustrations out!
