Rained today so Chad was home with his new toy when I stopped in for a snort.
Made in 1890.
Range report soon.

Byron,
That is a very nice looking rifle. Is it all original, or has it been refinished? Either way, I like it.
Who is Chad?

Sorry about that, Rafter-7, or Putz to me.
It's original, unmessed with.

Wow! An 1873 in .22 Short. I haven't seen one of those in almost 40 years.
And the one I saw then wasn't near as nice as that one.

Hello Hagler,
Iam here and doing just fine, Thanks for asking
We got about 5 hundredths of rain yesterday first rain of the season, since april 15th I have been putting in 16 to 18 hour days 7 days a week so yesterday I came home and took a nap till byron showed up.
I asked Byron to post this thread and follow it for I am not around much anymore till freeze up.
Byron and I talked about this gun for a long time befor having the guy ship it. But you know in 25 years of gun showing We have never seen a 73 rimfire with that much condition so he bought some guns from me, I cleaned out the piggy bank, and sold my camper.... good trade right?

Very nice! You don't see too many original '73's in that kind of condition.

Congratulations to your son...that is a quite a rifle to have looking like after 118 years.
