Is always better than a good day at work, so they say and I agree completely.
Last Sunday I decided to see if the striper's where biting, but had no luck at all. It was a nice break and had a good time on the river. I put in at Willow Beach just below Hoover Dam. Took a few pictures for those that have not been in this part of the country before.

When I was a kid we lived in Boulder City for a while. We went boating on Lake Mead a lot. And my Dad nearly drowned on that exact spot you were fishing. Three guys in heavy winter clothes; boat sank, they almost didn't make it.
Back in that day there was a white horse that lived along that stretch of river, we would see it ghosting thru the brush when we were playing on the beach.
That bridge is going up very slowly. It will be a spectacular view driving over it won't it?
I did not see any one else catching any thing either, it was a nice day nun the less.
Grizz my dad lived in BC as a kid too, when his dad worked building the dam. If they ever get that bridge finished I could get to willow beach much faster and the truckers wont have to go clear around through Laughlin. It will be quite a sight from up there for sure!
I remember something about that wild horse, spent many a weekend camping in that campground as a kid.
Glad your dad and his buddy's made it, that water is cold.

That is one impressive dam. I've been over it once in a car, and several times by plane. Glad you had a good day - just will make the next one that much sweeter when the fish are biting!!!
Hobie, I like it allot especially for fishing, it seems like you always end up crawling all over the boat I try to make it down to Baja once or twice a year and it's a great Kayak down there. It has pretty good speed/range and just a super fishing platform.
Even though I have a wife and two daughters, they never want to go fishing, so the Kayak is my solo fisher! The regular boat is just to much to handle alone.
Here is a picture of my boat down in Baja, the Kayak fits inside.
