Fell a nice Norway pine this morning, it`s gonna make some nice wide boards on the mill.
Can`t get it out for a while as the ground is to soft yet, will update as it goes.

Thanks guys, I`m getting low on wide boards so should get a pile of 8-12-14-16`s out of it.
I love sawing those straight Norway logs.
Yep the bugs will be out soon, dern deer ticks are out already.

The ticks are an epidemic here. Guy found 2 dead moose the other day just covered. Maine has the highest lyme disease rate in the country. Funny thing is up until a few years ago, I'd never even seen a tick.
Sorry you're still hurting my friend. Prayers sent.
"Oh bother", said Pooh, as he chambered another round.
Thanks bud, still haven`t heard back about my psa results.
Did I tell ya... when I started taking the anti bionics I got constipated so the little lady said.

Pitchy, You're a lumberjack and You're OK!
Thanks buddy, heck I`m a want-a-be compared to many but we try and get things done.
Tell ya one thing if a person didn`t have to hear all the stuff that`s going on with the witch hunt of Trump it would help.
Which of coarse is part of the lefts plan to divide the country, sure hope some good comes out of all this soon as its effecting us in a bad way.
Heck most of us can remember when we didn`t think about this stuff at all, lock our doors and feel like we`re loosing our country.
Gods in control and it will come out in the wash.

Ever since I felled my first tree 20+ years ago, a chainsaw is my favorite outdoor tool. Indoors, I'd choose a lathe. Felling the tree is the most fun, especially when you sight along your outstretched arm and try to estimate exactly where the top will fall -- I'd place a small marker at that spot, and I nailed it one time.
Missed it BIG one time too , but nobody got hurt and no damage was done.
Yup, felling the tree is the fun part -- THEN all the work begins to clear it.

I was going to say something clever about "Putting a little excitement...." and then I thought the better of finishing it; but as a rider, you probably know the old quote anyhow.
Yepper yepper, I`ll post sawing when we get it to the mill

Pitchy, that sure is a beautiful saw log.
Thanks Jerry, I wanted to get it out of the woods today but my front tires were sinking in the ground six inches.

I tell ya........there is only one PITCHY.......bad to the bone.
Cool pics and vid bro. The wife and I are sitting around and doing nothing.....as usual.....I cracked open another Coors and clicked on your vid......better than anything Hollywood has ever put out.---6
We have those dang ticks here, too. Funny, but fire ants love to eat them. Might just be the only good thing about fire ants.

Sure makes me miss my woods, my tractor and my chainsaw. A guy just feels good dropping a few trees and bucking them up. I feel sorry for those who have never had the experience.
I was not fortunate enough to have my own mill, however.
I've got some "felling" to do around my place... mostly Mesquite that's gotten big enough to make some crossed-sticks to sell. That drying time is a real drag tho'!!

Thanks guys, I`m down and out for a while, prostate was bad enough but now my lower back went out and can barely walk.
I need to bounce back soon.

Sorry to hear that Pitchy. My back has been acting up since last Thursday. I'm third night into a 4 night trip, 4 different hotels in 4 different towns. Not fun on my back for sure.
You need to stop being polite pitchy, When you feel the neeed to brrrrrrp, cut it loose! I bet the inflammation will subside, at least at the south of the border, nostrils might be a different story.

Lenn, your videos are great!
I have been thinking about buying myself a portable bandsaw mill for a few years, this reignites my desire to cut lumber...
Thanks guys, I`ve thought about buying a band mill or building one but I can`t justify the expense for the little we saw.
If I didn`t have this old mill I`d probably get one though, a band mill saves a lot of lumber and cuts smooth.
