Range time with the Windham VEX

Post by 2ndovc »

Finally got out to sight in the Windham. What a great shooter! I ran 40 rounds of IMI 62 gr. Green Tip ammo through it without a single issue. Pretty much what I expected. Shooting at fifty yards to start, it didn't take long to start getting some pretty small groups. The best (lower left) was four rounds into about 3/4" of an inch, I pulled the last one out to 1". Too freaking cold out this morning and didn't move back to the 100 yd line, but i'm very happy with it so far. Going to see how it does with the 77 gr. Hornady's I have.

Jason: 1:8 twist barrel? Agree with Pitch that that thing "shore is purty."

Thanks Guys!

Bill, it is a 1:8 barrel. I'm also curious how the 55 gr. bullets will do. Going to be fun finding out. :D

I have a Wyndham Weaponry "SRC" model. 16" bbl., flat top upper 1-9" twist. It seems to handle 50-60 grain bullets well. With an "el cheapo" 1-4 power scope I've been lucky to get a couple of 1" groups @ 100 yards. I've changed out quite a few of the components on mine. I do believe that yours is much better looking than mine! I strongly suspect you'll improve on that as you break-in that bbl.

A friend got a Windham Weaponry rifle about 5 years ago for his first ever rifle. He still loves it.
