Just picked up Marlin 1895 XLR stainless 45-70
$477.00
great shape, smooth action.
Do these suffer from the dreaded Marlin jam?

Pretty good deal!!

Haven't heard of the 95s jamming. I have two Marlin 95s and they're terrific rifles.

Been wanting an XLR in .444.

I am not absolutely sure, but I think the "Marlin Jam" problem was only in the smaller pistol calibers in the 1894's. The Marlin people could confirm this. Congratulations on the new rifle!

Don't know about that model jamming, but the 336C in .30-30 has a reputation for total reliability.
